- 2007 and beyond: WIG holds four state briefings on higher education, develops resource center materials, and continues to support legislation aimed at educational equity in the fifty states.
- 2005: The Access to Higher Education Policy Research Center opens thanks to a generous grant from the Lumina Foundation for Education.
- 2004: Women in Government sponsors 2-day educational session for members, who express the need for a comprehensive collection of resources for state legislators.
- 2003: Access to Higher Education Task Force convened in response to state legislators' identification of access issues.
