2025-2026 Business Council Leadership Positions Nomination Form

Election Process

The election will be conducted using ranked-choice voting. The candidate with the highest number of votes will become Chair. For Vice Chair, the candidate with the second highest number of votes will serve as First Vice Chair, and the third highest number of votes will serve as Second Vice Chair.

Timeline for Business Council Leadership Elections
  • Friday, October 11, 2024: Nominations due
  • Wednesday, November 13, 2024: In-person candidate forum at Leadership & Innovation Summit
  • Friday, December 6, 2024: Deadline for ballots
  • Friday, December 13, 2024: Announcement of Business Council Election Results
Description of Business Council Chair Responsibilities (2-year term)
  • Convene and lead Business Council meetings, in person or via conference call.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the Business Council with the Women In Government Board and Officers.
  • Attend Women In Government Board of Directors’ meetings as the Business Council liaison.
  • Facilitate introductions for Women in Government officers/staff with potential corporate sponsors.
  • Collaborate with Women in Government on corporate sponsor outreach strategies.
  • Appoint committees of the Business Council to address specific projects or matters.
Description of Business Council First Vice Chair Responsibilities (2-year term)
  • Leads Business Council meetings in the absence of the Chair.
  • Serve as Interim Chair in the event of a vacancy until a new election can be held.
  • Lead specific initiatives at the request of the Chair.
Description of Business Council Second Vice Chair Responsibilities (2-year term)
  • Lead Business Council meetings in the absence of both the Chair and First Vice Chair.

  • Leads specific initiatives at the request of the Chair.
